She graduated in 1983 from the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design at Addis Ababa University, where she currently serves as an instructor.

Alongside numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ethiopia, she has also showcased her work internationally, including at the Harn Museum of Art in the USA (2007), as well as in China and France.
